LPKF Laser & Electronics AG now owns 100 percent of the shares of its Naklo subsidiary, LPKF Laser & Elektronika d.o.o., having purchased the 25 percent still held by the company's co-founders, LPKF said recently. LPKF, which has more than 700 employees, is based in Hannover and has its North American headquarters near Portland, Ore. It exports approximately 90 percent of the milling machines and laser systems it makes, which are used in circuit board and microelectronics fabrication, the medical and automotive industries, and in the production of solar cells. All of LPKF's production takes place in Germany and Slovenia. The subsidiary develops and produces the laser sources used by the LPKF group. It also develops, manufactures and sells SMT (surface mount technology) prototyping equipment and systems for producing printed circuit board prototypes. The final shares were held by the Zepic family, which co-founded the company with LPKF 19 years ago. The purchase price was not disclosed. For more information, visit: www.lpkfusa.com
