SAN DIEGO, Calif., Aug. 28, 2007 -- A set of algorithms and software programs have been designed to enable the 19 individual mirrors comprising NASA's powerful James Webb Space Telescope to function as one very sensitive telescope. NASA researchers are presenting findings on these advances at Optic + Photonics, SPIE's annual meeting, being held this week at the San Diego Convention Center.
