GRENOBLE, France, Oct. 7, 2024 — IR sensor developer Lynred has acquired New Imaging Technologies (NIT), a Paris-based developer of short-wave IR (SWIR) imaging modules and sensors. In a strategic move to consolidate its leadership in IR sensors, Lynred said, the deal with expand its product portfolio to include large format shortwave sensors with small pixel pitch. Via the transaction, Lynred will bolster its product offering across the short- to long-wave IR band. In addition to NIT’s SWIR products, the deal includes NIT’s portfolio of wide dynamic range patents. The transaction is expected to close...Read full article

    infrared
Infrared (IR) refers to the region of the electromagnetic spectrum with wavelengths longer than those of visible light, but shorter than those of microwaves. The infrared spectrum spans wavelengths roughly between 700 nanometers (nm) and 1 millimeter (mm). It is divided into three main subcategories: Near-infrared (NIR): Wavelengths from approximately 700 nm to 1.4 micrometers (µm). Near-infrared light is often used in telecommunications, as well as in various imaging and sensing...
