Adhesives Research Inc., a manufacturer of pressure-sensitive adhesives, tapes, specialty coatings, films and laminates, has added two new employees to its Glen Rock, Pa., facility: Bill Schultz as vice president of operations and Don Herr as research and development group leader for the Electronics and Engineered Tapes business groups. Schultz, a 15-year manufacturing veteran, is responsible for the manufacturing operations of the company's Medical, Pharmaceutical, Electronics, Engineered Tapes and Splicing divisions. He started his career at Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Co. in Lafayette, Ind., and then moved on to Harley-Davidson Motor Co. at both the Milwaukee, Wis., and York, Pa., sites. After that, Schultz worked for Teleflex Marine as a plant manager for the Mechanical Div. Herr previously worked for National Starch and Chemical in the company’s Applied Research group, focusing on the synthesis, study, and scale-up of ultraviolet (UV) and thermally curable materials for use as electronics adhesives, moisture-barrier flat panel display sealants, and pressure-sensitive adhesives. He also worked for W.R. Grace & Co. in their Corporate Research group in the areas of thiolene UV curable coatings/photoresists and epoxy-acrylate UV/thermal dual cure materials.
