ANELLO Adds Advisor for Defense Applications: People in the News: 2/12/25

MALTA, N.Y., Feb. 12, 2025 — GlobalFoundries’ board of directors has appointed Thomas Caulfield as executive chairman, Tim Breen as CEO, and Niels Anderskouv as COO. The appointments were made after GlobalFoundries board member Ahmed Yahia decided to step down from his position. Caulfield has served as president and CEO of GlobalFoundries since 2018. Breen has held the position of COO at the company since 2023 with previous experience as a senior member of the executive team at Mubadala Investment Company. Anderskouv brings 25 years’ experience to his new role and currently serves as chief business officer of GlobalFoundries.

MARLBOROGH, Mass. — IPG Photonics has promoted Mary E. Buttarazzi to the positions of vice president, corporate controller, and chief accounting officer, effective in March upon the retirement of Thomas J. Burgomaster. Buttarazzi has over 25 years of finance and accounting leadership with extensive management experience. Prior to joining IPG as vice president of finance in January, she served as the chief accounting officer and corporate controller of Orbia Advance Corporation.

ESPOO, Finland — Nokia has appointed Justin Hotard as its president and CEO effective April 1. He will take over for current president and CEO Pekka Lundmark who has decided to step down from the positions. Hotard joins Nokia with more than 25 years’ experience with global technology companies, currently leading the Data Center & AI Group at Intel.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — ANNELO Photonics, a silicon photonics developer, has added Kevin J. Cosgriff as an advisor for defense applications. Cosgriff is a retired U.S. Navy vice admiral and former commander of the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command.

WATERLOO, Ontario — MicroLED and sensing company VueReal has appointed Robert Selley as chief commercial officer. In the newly created role, he will oversee all global sales and business development activities and help drive the company’s expansion across industry sectors including lighting, consumer electronics, automotive, AR/VR, and health. Selley has held executive leadership positions at global semiconductor companies throughout his over 25 year career, including Nova Semiconductor, FormFactor, Cascade Microtech, and MKS.

SAARBRÜCKEN, Germany — The Fraunhofer Institute for Nondestructive Testing (Fraunhofer IZFP) has added Andreas Noss as administrative director as well as a member of the institute’s steering committee. Noss has extensive experience in the areas of finance, controlling, and strategic corporate management. Before joining Fraunhofer IZFP, he worked for seven years as commercial director of ZeMA gGmbH and served in commercial and operational management functions at Robert Bosch GmbH.

FRANKFURT, Germany — Members of the Organic and Printed Electronics Association (OE-A), an international industry association for the emerging technology of organic and printed electronics, have elected the association’s international board of directors. Alain Schumacher of IEE was elected chair, Luke Pan of Brilliant Optoelectronic Technology was elected vice chair of Asia, Carsten L. Herzhoff of Lohmann was elected vice chair of Europe, and Chloé Bois of the Printability and Graphic Communications Institute was elected vice chair of North America. An additional 10 members were elected to the board including Pawel Czabak of LC Elektronik, Jérôme Gavillet of CEA Liten, and Chuck Milligan of Flexenable, among others.

FRIEDBERG, Germany — IMAGO Technologies, an embedded vision company, has added Christoph Siemon and Stephan Straka to head its operational management. They will take over for Carsten Strampe who has transitioned from managing director to a member of the company’s advisory board. Siemon, who joined IMAGO in 2021, is an industrial engineer responsible for sales, marketing, and development. Straka has held various leadership positions at IMAGO for over a decade and most recently was the company’s head of production.

GLATTBRUGG, Switzerland — Provider of digital image management systems Imagic Bildverarbeitung AG has appointed Berkan Gülenaltin as sales manager and member of the company’s executive board. Over the past nine years, Gülenaltin has taken on global responsibility in key account management, headed sales in the automotive sector, and was most recently responsible for a business unit for innovation and new business development.
