Precision Cutting/Scribing on Glass
Precision Glass & Optics (PG&O)Request Info
Precision Glass & Optics offers precision glass cutting and scribing on thin flat substrates measuring up to 600 × 600 mm. The company uses the Gen-3 Phoenix-600 machine from TLC International to provide technical cuts on glass substrates.
The machine provides close-tolerance singulation of 0.075- to 3-mm flat technical glass substrates, with repeatable accuracies of ±0.0508 mm for rectilinear (X-Y) and ±0.0762 mm for circular and free-form shaped parts – single sheet or laminate – using carbide and diamond wheels. Laminated glass parts also can be processed, making the high-precision glass scribing ability suitable for a variety of commercial, biomedical and military applications, such as avionics, aerospace, automotive, digital x-ray, entertainment lighting, satellites and consumer electronic displays.
Specialized glass cutting is essential in a variety of microelectronic applications. In other tasks that require thinner, lighter and stronger thin flat glass, such as cover glass, touch screens, electrochromic mirrors and other information displays, the company provides scribing on flat glass surfaces that are coated with various optical coatings.
