SensorDymanics Enters Gyroscope Market

GRAZ, Austria, April 15, 2010 — SensorDymanics, a micro and wireless semiconductor products manufacturer, has launched its two- and three-axis gyroscopes. Its patented sensor elements are fabricated by the PSM-X2 MEMS process, which is available for 8-in. wafers. They can be used as standalone components or combined with a 3-D accelerometer. The company will offer the 2- and 3-D MEMS gyroscopes as standalone products for use in industry, automation engineering, medicine and navigation applications. Additionally, an automotive version for the -40 to 125 °C temperature range that is certified to AEC-Q1000 is...Read full article

    Glossary
    accelerometer
An accelerometer is a sensor or transducer that measures the rate of change of velocity of an object, or in simpler terms, it measures acceleration. Accelerometers are widely used in various electronic devices to detect and measure the acceleration forces acting on the device in different directions. Key features and principles of accelerometers include: Acceleration measurement: The primary function of an accelerometer is to measure acceleration, which is the rate of change of...

    1. A localized fracture at the end of a cleaved optical fiber or on a glass surface. 2. An integrated circuit.
    gyroscope
A gyroscope is a mechanical device consisting of a spinning disk or wheel mounted on a spinning axis in such a way that its orientation remains fixed regardless of any movement of its mounting structure. Gyroscopes are used to measure or maintain orientation and angular velocity in various applications, such as navigation systems, aircraft stabilization, robotics, and more. The principle behind a gyroscope is based on the conservation of angular momentum, where the spinning motion of the...
