SCHOTT AG has appointed Marcus Knöbel as CFO effective Sept. 1. Previously acting as SCHOTT’s executive vice president of its advanced optics business unit, Knöbel will assume responsibilities related to finance, purchasing, information technology, and mergers and acquisitions within the company’s management board. ULM, Germany — Lidar technology developer Scantinel has appointed Frank Lindenberg as chairman of its advisory board. He brings over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry to Scantinel. Lindenberg most recently served on the board of directors of electric car manufacturer Lucid and as CFO and head of corporate strategy at Mercedes-Benz AG. BOSTON — QuEra, a neutral-atom quantum computing company, has appointed Andy Ory as acting CEO, following Alex Keesling's transition to a role leading production and and technology development. Ory will serve in the position while the company searches for a permanent candidate. Ory is a member of QuEra’s board of directors and co-founded and led several companies, including Acme Packet, which was acquired by Oracle, and 128 Technology, which was acquired by Juniper Networks. Chubb has over 30 years’ experience in a range of board level roles at companies including RPS, Grontmij UK, and Sweco Denmark along with senior leadership experience in the nuclear, ICT, waste, and energy sectors. Walsh, most recently Sondrel’s vice president of ASIC business development, will be responsible for growing Sondrel’s U.S. semiconductor business from its new Silicon Valley offices in Santa Clara, Calif.
