Digital camera manufacturer !%Basler AG%! of Ahrensburg, Germany, reported that it enjoyed an 8 percent increase in revenue for fiscal 2011, making it the best year in the company's history. Sales increased to €55.1 million (about $73.3 million) compared with €51 million for 2010. The company's gross profit margin also increased, from 43.5 to 44.3 percent, and its pretax earnings increased to €5.6 million compared with €5 million for the previous year. "Our new strategy alignment, agreed upon three years ago with focus on the camera business, continues to prove successful," said Dr. Dietmar Ley, chairman of the management board.
