Spectroscopy employs photonic tools to ascertain certain characteristics of matter. The ever-increasing push towards studying matter within application spaces demanding low size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) requires an appropriate photonic tool. DBR laser diodes bring a unique ability to break boundaries in Raman, biomedical, food inspection, art conservation/cultural heritage, and environmental situations where matter is being analyzed. Combining excellent SWaP-C characteristics, the DBR laser diodes’ inherent monolithic structure ensures ruggedness and scalability in critical and high-volume applications.
Its characteristically high photonic output powers and efficiency make it an excellent tool where matter must be accurately analyzed where the input power is limited. The DBR laser diode does this all while delivering a narrow linewidth (<500kHz) and stable polarization (300:1) providing excellent stability in its optical parameters while maintaining lock to its desired wavelength throughout its lifetime. Its deterministic and invariant wavelength tuning allows it to be fine-tuned, precisely to the application at hand.

He holds a BSEET, an MBA, and a doctorate.
When Golata is not supporting DBR laser diode sales he is usually busy melting people's faces rocking out on his Les Paul or out for the day running in ultramarathon endurance events.
