STRATFORD, Conn., Jan. 19, 2009 – Newport Corp. has announced the addition of the Oriel Sol3A solar simulators to its line of photovoltaic test and measurement products.

Newport-Solar-Simulators.jpgThe large-area, continuous-wave sources use a xenon lamp and feature a proprietary filter to meet all three Class A performance parameters – spectral match, nonuniformity of irradiance and temporal instability of irradiance – without compromising the 1-sun output power. Each version is certified to the IEC 60904-9 2007 edition, JIS C 8912 and ASTM E 927-05 standards.

The simulators are available in 2 × 2, 4 × 4, 6 × 6 and 8 × 8-in. sizes, making them suitable for testing and measuring solar cells.
