The PL-8000M from PacketLight Networks is a 2 × 800 G muxponder designed to address high-capacity optical transport solutions and data center interconnects for enterprise, AI, and cloud computing networks. The muxponder delivers up to 1.6 Tb/s of capacity using two 800G pluggable OpenROADM coherent optical modules in a 1 U device. The PL-800M integrates key optical layer components such as mux/demux, EDFAs, and an optical switch and supports standard optical modules interfaces for the 100 GbE, 400 GbE, and 800 GbE services as well as Layer-1 GCM-AES-256 encryption for secure communications and QKD for future encryption needs.
