Ultratech Acquires Cambridge Nanotech

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 1, 2013 — Ultratech Inc. has acquired the assets of Cambridge Nanotech Inc. of Cambridge, Mass., a developer and supplier of atomic-layer deposition (ALD) technology. Financial terms were not disclosed. Ultratech says that adding the ALD technology will expand its nanotechnology and intellectual property (IP) portfolio, enabling it to address new areas within the electronics industry and allowing it to access new markets such as biomedical and energy.
