Teledyne Scientific & Imaging LLC, a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Inc., both of Thousand Oaks, Calif., has been awarded a five-year contract for the US Air Force Research Laboratory’s High Stare technology development program for advancing the state of the art of infrared sensors for future missile warning and defense space system applications. Under the terms of the contract, the company will receive in excess of $15 million to aid in the development of the large detectors needed for the program. The contract is sponsored by the laboratory’s Materials and Manufacturing Directorate in Dayton, Ohio, and by the Space Vehicles Directorate in Albuquerque, N.M.
