Singlet Fission Can Boost Power of Si-Based Solar

SYDNEY, July 30, 2024 — Singlet fission and triplet fusion are related photophysical processes with potential applications in photovoltaics, photocatalysis, optical and magnetic resonance imaging, and advanced manufacturing. When applied to photovoltaics, singlet fission and triplet fusion can increase the efficiency of solar cells appreciably, according to a research team at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
