BINGHAMTON, N.Y., May 24 -- Semiconductor Laser International Corp. said that for the first quarter, net sales were $405,850, compared with net sales of $298,545 in the same 1999 period. SLI also reported a net loss from operations for the first quarter ended March 31, 2000 of $1,303,767, compared to a net loss of $1,000,798 for the same 1999 quarter. The net loss applicable to common stock for this year's first quarter was $0.07 per share, as compared to a net loss of $0.09 per share for the first quarter of 1999 when there were approximately 6,900,000 fewer shares outstanding.SLI manufactures and produces high-power semiconductor lasers. Its technology can be used in areas such as: the automotive-, dental-, medical-, telecommunications- and optical data storage-industries.
