Under a two-year, $5.9 million contract, Rockwell Scientific Co. LLC of Thousand Oaks, Calif., will supply laser-protective eyewear to the US Air Force. Designed and produced under the Aircrew Laser Eye Protection program, the eyewear is for protection from temporary or permanent vision loss that may be caused by various laser devices, and it will enable aircrew members to perform mission requirements in daylight and nighttime conditions. Rockwell has developed the spectacles for the program since 2000.
