Photop Technologies Inc. of Fuzhou, China, has doubled its capacity to produce couplers, which are based on the company’s package and parallel fusion technologies. It is expected that global coupler consumption will be driven by the growing demand for high-capacity transport systems such as optical fiber amplifier systems, dense wavelength division multiplexers and optical add/drop modules. Various types of couplers are enabling components for applications such as sensors, test instruments and fiber-to-the-premises networks.
