ROCHESTER, N.Y., Jan. 29 -- Harvey Pollicove, the director of the Center of Optics Manufacturing (COM) at and a graduate of the University of Rochester, died suddenly Jan. 25 at the age of 60. Pollicove was posthumously awarded the Distinction in Photonics Award from Laurin Publishing's Photonics Spectra magazine on Jan. 26, at a ceremony held in conjunction with Photonics West.
