Luxtera Inc. of Carlsbad, Calif., has received a Phase II grant from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to further develop a 40-Gb/s dense wavelength division multiplexing single CMOS chip transceiver. The grant will support efforts to improve performance, make the device smaller and put additional circuitry on the chip.
