Following the announcement in March of a large traffic safety order, Jenoptik has received another major order to deliver lasers for medical use to a US-based client. The $16 million order covers a period of three years and will be fulfilled by Jenoptik’s Lasers & Material Processing Div. Since 1999, the lasers have been manufactured at the company’s production site in Jena, Germany. Applications for the medical lasers include ophthalmology, dermatology, surgery and urology.
