As part of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency contract, Digital Optics Corp., also of Charlotte, has garnered $335,976 for its second phase of collaborative applied research with the Center for Optoelectronics and Optical Communications. The organizations will develop small-form-factor and low-cost optics-based systems for spectrometers and communications transmitters. The university will contribute optical metrology expertise, and Digital Optics will provide experience in micro-optics and optical integration.
