Compact Imaging, IPIC to Commercialize OCT Biosensor

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 17, 2015 — Compact Imaging Inc. has teamed up with the Irish Photonic Integration Center (IPIC) to bring compact optical biosensor technology to the market. The company said its benchtop prototype MRO (multiple reference optical coherence tomography) technology enables tissue imaging and analysis at a reduced size and cost compared to conventional OCT systems. IPIC will provide photonic integration and packaging expertise, specialized equipment and funding to develop miniaturized, low-cost modules suitable for integration with mobile devices and high-volume production. Potential...Read full article

    optical coherence tomography
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging technique used in medical and scientific fields to capture high-resolution, cross-sectional images of biological tissues. It provides detailed, real-time, and three-dimensional visualization of tissue structures at the micrometer scale. OCT is particularly valuable in ophthalmology, cardiology, dermatology, and various other medical specialties. Here are the key features and components of optical coherence tomography: Principle of...
