CT Scanner to Check Aircraft Components

Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc. of Tustin, Calif. said its Aquilion LB computed tomography (CT) scanner will by used to help ensure the reliability of aircraft parts as part of Lockheed Martin's nondestructive testing program in Palmdale. The scanner has a large-bore opening (90 cm) that enables it to capture images of larger objects in one scan, and its 70-cm acquired true field-of-view (FOV) eliminates the need to scan items in pieces and reassemble images for review, the company said.Read full article
