Peak Technologies Acquires Automation Intelligence

Peak Technologies, a system integrator in the automatic identification and data capture market, has acquired Automation Intelligence, LLC. Automation Intelligence, a robotics systems integrator, specializes in the design and implementation of advanced robotic and machine vision solutions, primarily serving the manufacturing sector.

Automation Intelligence’s industrial robotics engineering services support a range of technical applications, including automated bin picking, 3D vision guided robotics and inspection, automated assembly and material handling, palletizing and depalletizing, and assembly line robotic arm configuration. According to Tony Rivers, CEO of Peak Technologies, Automation Intelligence’s expertise in robotics and machine vision enhances Peak’s capabilities in areas including radio-frequency identification, and advanced 2D and 3D vision systems.

“Joining Peak Technologies enables us to bring our automation and robotics expertise into new vertical markets where Peak is already delivering cutting-edge solutions,” said Jeff McGarry, managing partner of Automation Intelligence.

Automation Intelligence’s management team, including Eric Carlson, Ron MacQuarrie, Jeffrey McGarry, and Jerry Stark, will remain in their roles following the acquisition.

Sole Source Capital LLC, an industrial-focused private equity firm, announced the acquisition. Peak Technologies is a portfolio company of Sole Source Capital. Automation Intelligence was founded in 2016 and is based in Flint, Mich. Peak Technologies is headquartered in Littleton, Mass.
