NEXCOM, a rugged edge computing platforms company, and Stereolabs, an AI vision and 3D perception company, have formed a long-term collaboration to deliver AI vision solutions for B2B organizations across mobility, robotics, and industrial automation applications. The collaboration will see the integration of Stereolabs’ ZED X series cameras with NEXCOM’s ATC series edge AI computers to facilitate easy deployment of intelligent vision systems. Stereolabs' latest ZED SDK 5.1, powered by TERRA AI, offers enhance perception capabilities, optimizing spatial awareness and system efficiency. The enhancements place the company's ZED X series in a position to meet advanced AI vision applications where precision and responsiveness are crucial. The technology is able to offer 5× faster depth sensing and up to 300% processing load reduction on NVIDIA Jetson platforms, as well as sharper depth accuracy in challenging conditions such as low light, fog, or reflective surfaces. The cameras also use Magellan, Stereolabs’ localization technology, to deliver centimeter-level precision both indoors and outdoors. NEXCOM’s ATC series of edge AI computers is geared toward extreme environments. These dust, water, vibration, and extreme temperature-resistant computers are powered by NVIDIA Jetson modules, which allows real-time edge inference. The series features built-in IGN control and smart power management, while offering multi-camera support. The collaboration aims to provide for industrial and mobility sectors seeking to introduce AI vision to drive efficiency and safety. Among others, some potential industries listed are public transit, robotics, and public safety, with a wide range of applications such as mobile surveillance, robotic arms, and enforcement monitoring.
