SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif., Nov. 16 -- Endevco Corp., a maker of sensors for the aerospace, transportation and medical markets, announced today that its parent company, UK-based Meggitt PLC, has agreed to acquire Wilcoxon Research Inc., a supplier of vibration sensors and accessories to the industrial market. Wilcoxon will become part of Meggitt's Electronics division, which is led by Endevco.
Wilcoxon, a private company based in Maryland, makes sensors and wireless networks for industrial condition monitoring applications, including industrial accelerometers and laboratory and test instrumentation.
"The acquisition of Wilcoxon is a key element in our growth strategy, bringing the latest in material and network sensing technology and an excellent reputation for high quality, service and value," said Robert Meyer, president of Endevco.
Endevco makes dynamic instrumentation for vibration, shock and pressure measurement. Its line of piezoelectric, piezoresistive, Isotron and variable capacitance accelerometers are used to solve measurement problems in a wide variety of industries, including aerospace, automotive, defense, medical, industrial and marine. Other products include pressure transducers, microphones, electronic instruments and calibration systems.
Endevco has a factory-direct sales force in the US and is represented outside the US by Bruel & Kjaer.
