Computer vision and automation technology solutions developer LuminX has closed a $5.5 million seed funding round. LuminX's intelligent automation technology is designed to increase inventory management capabilities and visibility in warehouse settings. The company plans to use the funds to invest in R&D for vision language models, prepare products for commercial deployment, expand its personnel, and scale go-to-market activities. According to LuminX, the company's solutions automate operational tasks, eliminate manual work, and provide data for reducing discrepancies to optimize workflow. The company's AI-powered systems use cameras to recognize products and labels, assess package conditions, and track movement. The systems can be used on docks, conveyors, on forklifts, or as handheld units. The seed round was supported by investors 1Sharpe, GTMFund, 9Yards, Chingona Ventures, and the Bond Fund. LuminX is led by founder and CEO Alex Kaveh Senemar, who previously founded and led Voxel, an AI technology company active in warehouse safety and operations.
