LightPath Names Chairman, Louis G. Leeburg
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Sept. 21 -- LightPath Technologies Inc. announced that Louis G. Leeburg has assumed the responsibilities of chairman of the board of directors. Leeburg, a company director since May 1996, replaces Leslie A. Danziger. As founder of the company, Danziger oversaw the development and commercialization of LightPath's proprietary Gradium optical material technologies.
Donald E. Lawson, company president and CEO, commented, The Board of Directors is pleased that Lou Leeburg has agreed to this added level of responsibility at such a key time for LightPath. He has served the shareholders and the other Board members, including myself, very well during his tenure and particularly over the past eighteen months as we have transitioned the company toward the fast growing field of optical components for the telecommunications industry. Lou also served on the LightChip, Inc. Board of Directors during the negotiation of its first equity round of financing, which was closed with AT&T Ventures.
