Infineon Technologies and Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp. (SMIC) have signed an agreement to expand their cooperation in the production of standard memory chips (DRAMs). Under the new agreement, Infineon will transfer its 0.11 um DRAM trench technology and 300 mm production know-how to SMIC, which will manufacture products using this technology exclusively for Infineon. . . . Cambridge Display Technology announced it has more than tripled the lifetime of its blue research light-emitting polymer (LEP) devices, which it calls a major step toward marketing LEP technology in full-color active matrix applications such as internet access devices, computer applications and consumer electronic products.
