About This Webinar
Due to recent advancements in technology, Raman Spectroscopy has evolved into a commonplace, cost-effective, and highly valued analytical tool across various material research and process control applications. Progress in laser technology, detectors, and filters, coupled with the innovation of novel signal generation and detection schemes, has empowered instrument manufacturers to overcome the challenge of weak signals associated with Raman spectroscopy. This breakthrough has accelerated the development of smaller, more sensitive, and user-friendly Raman instruments.

This presentation explores the critical laser performance characteristics that are crucial for selecting an illumination source in a modern Raman spectroscopy setup. Karlsson reviews the current landscape of available laser technologies while also introducing a range of new laser technologies tailored for advanced Raman spectroscopy applications.

About the presenter

Håkan KarlssonHåkan Karlsson, Ph.D., leads the photonics division at HÜBNER Group and serves as CEO of Cobolt AB. Holding a doctorate from KTH Stockholm, he co-founded Cobolt AB in 2000, pioneering the commercialization of diode-pumped lasers utilizing periodically poled nonlinear optical materials. Under his guidance, Cobolt AB transitioned from a startup backed by venture capital to a rapidly expanding, profitable laser manufacturer. Renowned for its proprietary manufacturing process, Cobolt AB is celebrated for delivering dependable and highly durable high-performance lasers. The company's success led to its acquisition by HÜBNER Group in 2015, paving the way for the establishment of HÜBNER Photonics in 2018.
