Large-Format Machine Vision Lens
ROCHESTER, N.Y., Aug. 11, 2009 – Navitar Inc. has launched a 50-mm large-format machine vision lens suitable for use with full-frame 11- and 16-megapixel sensors. The Raptar lens has a robust mechanical design that the company says exceeds industry requirements for median time to failure, relative illumination and the low distortion that is required of systems with high-cost large-format cameras.
The lens covers a 43-mm-diagonal sensor with a field of view of 50 mm and a focusing range from 0.5 m to infinity. It features a manual iris and focus control with positive single-point focus and iris locks. Lens aperture range is from f/2 to f/22, and angular field is 46° diagonal and 37° horizontal.
Designed for demanding industrial machine vision applications, the lens is rugged and compact.
It is suitable for use in veterinarian digital x-ray; food and plastics sorting and inspection; film, paper and plastics defect inspection; lumber and wood inspection; and solar wafer and cell inspection. The lens comes standard with an F-bayonet, and the company also offers M42 or C-mount options.
