RADIATION-HARD CAMERA
Sira Defense and Security Ltd.Request Info
Sira Technology Ltd. has released the APS250, a miniature video camera that has survived radiation doses of >6 mrad from beams of high-energy particles. The camera uses FillFactory NV's Star250 CMOS image sensor with a protective epilayer, supported by its own radiation-hard electronics. It has been subjected to a dose in excess of 10 million 300-keV electrons per pixel and exhibited only a 15% reduction in sensitivity. Applications include monitoring in nuclear plants, particle accelerators and fusion reactors, as well as scientific research where ionizing radiation is a problem for conventional detectors.
