PMD Emulation and Development Platforms
General Photonics Corp.
(PMDE-301 and PMDC-601)
CHINO, Calif., Feb. 9, 2006 -- General Photonics said its polarization
mode dispersion emulation platform (PMDE) simulates the true nature of
PMD. Using three of the company's polarization controllers and three
differentialgroup
delay (DGD) lines, the PMDE-301 generates an accurate Maxwellian
probability density fnction with a tunable mean DGD value. The dynamic
PMD emulation platform has broad applications in PMD effects evaluation
and in the calibration of PMD testing setups.
General Photonics' PMD development platform (PMDC) gives
researchers complete flexibility to investigate and experiment with
different compensation algorithms. The PMDC-601 integrates the
company's polarization controller, DGD generator and PolaDetect
polarimeter technologies with powerful software to aid researchers in
defining and implementing compensation techniques.
