Big Sky Laser Technologies Inc. is offering the Model CFR 800 Nd:YAG laser system for applications such as laser marking and cutting, machining, spectroscopy, lidar and ablation. It produces 800 mJ per pulse at 1064 nm with all harmonic generation within the laser head. The head measures only 14.5 3 6.5 3 5.75 in., making it eight times smaller than comparable systems, the company says. The total head weight is <25 lb. The instrument is powered and cooled by a closed-loop, deionized water-to-air heat exchanger.
