Live-cell imaging
Nikon Instruments Inc.Request Info
Designed to enable users with minimal experience
to perform live-cell imaging, the BioStation IM produced by Nikon Instruments Inc.
combines an inverted microscope with a vibration-damping chassis and a cooled, digital
CCD camera with a cell incubator that regulates temperature, humidity and gas concentrations,
all in an enclosed workstation that is designed to eliminate thermal and mechanical
drift. Offering local and remote operation from a network, and motorized stage movement
in the X-, Y- and Z-directions, it can perform time-lapse, phase contrast and multichannel
epifluorescence imaging in the X-Y plane. It images at 20x, 40x and 80x magnification
with an NA of 0.80 for glass-bottom dishes and at 10x, 20x and 40x magnification
with an NA of 0.50 for plastic-bottom dishes. The system is suitable for applications
in regenerative or clinical medicine, drug discovery, toxicology, and genomic and
proteomic research
