PROVIDENCE, R.I., Nov. 23, 2022 — Sapphire Debris Shields from Laser Research Optics are made from durable sapphire to withstand steel splatter, flash, and debris.
The devices reduce focus shift and the deterioration of beam quality while extending the service life and decreasing the number of lens changes. They have lower bulk absorption and high thermal conductivity. Available in 0.5- and 2.0-in. sizes, the shields have AR coatings on both sides to provide a transmission of >99.5% at 1.06 μm with >80% at 650 to 670 nm. The laser debris shields have a 10-5 scratch-dig finish and 1/4 wave transmitted wavefront.
