Equipment Solutions Inc.’s LFA-1012 linear focus actuator provides precision and speed over a short stroke for positioning in optical applications. Compact and cleanroom-compatible, the device features a patented zero-translation tangential flexure for high-speed travel, 10-mm stroke length, a 12-mm clear aperture, a standard 12-mm optics mount, 150-nm positioning resolution and 200-nm short-term repeatability. Long-term repeatability is 50 ppm/1000 h with 2.2 lb maximum continuous and 3.5 lb, 10-s peak force. The zero-friction voice-coil motor produces low electrical noise.
