IR-EMITTING DIODE
Clairex Technologies Inc.Request Info
The CLE390 consists of an AlGaAs 850-nm IR-emitting diode bonded to a ceramic substrate, and a monitor photodiode, both mounted on a three-leaded TO-46 header and hermetically sealed in a glass-domed metal lens can. Available from Clairex Technologies Inc., the RoHS-compliant device has applications in backlight displays, encoder feedback, touchscreens, wafer probing, ambient light sampling and instrument lighting in automobiles. Circuitry can be developed to adjust the IF on the emitter as it ages to ensure constant output level. At IF = 100 mA, typical irradiance is 1.5 mW/cm2 (>60 mW/sr), typical forward voltage is 1.7 V, the emission angle at the half power points is 22° and output rise/fall time is 20/40 ns. Typical coupled light current on the photodiode is 0.5 mA.
