High-Density LD Module
Hamamatsu CorporationRequest Info
BRIDGEWATER, N.J., Dec. 12, 2024 — Hamamatsu Photonics’ high-density laser diode (LD) module can act as a pump source for 1-kJ lasers used in fusion research. The module uses special mounting jigs and an improved high-melting-point solder joining technique and heat sink structure compared to the company’s other LD modules for its mounting technology. This allows the suppression of the leakage current and increased cooling efficiency, which contributes toward an output density for the LD module of 23 kW/cm2.
