Fiber-Coupled, Multi-Bar Modules
DILAS Diodenlaser GmbH
MAINZ, Germany, Oct. 26, 2009 – Dilas has announced its newest fiber-coupled multibar modules that deliver up to 300-W output from a 200-µm core diameter fiber at 976 nm.
They feature high brightness and power and have a compact footprint and a convenient aiming beam. The cladding mode-free QBH high-power fiber has a low numerical aperture of <0.20 and wall plug efficiency of >35%. Packaged in up to 10-bar configurations, these designs are based on industry standard conductively cooled bars that are optically stacked and polarization-coupled. The modules operate over a temperature range from 20 to 35 °C and require only industrial water for cooling.
Achieving high efficiency, they have demonstrated a lifetime greater than 10,000 h under 300-W continuous-wave operating conditions.
Center wavelength tolerance is ±3 nm, spectral width is 5 nm FWHM, slope efficiency is >7 W/A, and power conversion efficiency is >35%. Operating current is <60 A, threshold current is <10 A, and operating voltage is <20 V.
Custom wavelengths are available upon request. The modules are suitable for direct diode applications as well as for fiber and solid-state laser pumping.
