OZ Optics has introduced a laser-to-fiber delivery system for UV light
applications. The system comprises a single-mode fiber, a laser-to-fiber
coupler and a fiber collimator or focuser. The 2-µm core fiber
has a cutoff wavelength of <320 nm and features high OH content for
maximum transmission in the UV. In addition, fused silica lenses are used
in the coupler and collimator to achieve high coupling efficiencies. Applications
include fluorescence measurements and confocal microscopes.
