The motor was designed for high-speed operation; however, it can also be operated at stall to produce static thrust. This motor is encapsulated using a high-temperature 350° F potting compound, which protects the components and seals it from moisture. This noncontacting, high-speed linear motor, measuring 8.7 x 3 x 1.7 in. high, operates on the same principle as a rotary squirrel cage induction motor.
The device is typically used in applications that do not require positioning.
