In Littman/Metcalf Configuration
BUENA PARK, Calif., Jan. 18, 2006 -- Sacher Lasertechnik has introduced a line of automatically tunable laser systems in Littman/Metcalf configuration. The systems offer a high-output power, typically of 100 mW over a large tuning range, with complete user remote control.
Features include:- excellent tuning behavior
- coarse- and fine-tuning modes
- fine tuning via piezo actuator with a resolution of 10 MHz
- coarse tuning via DC servo motor up to 30 nm at 780 or 830 nm
- large mode-hop free tuning range of up to 100 GHz or more
- narrow linewidth < 300kHz
- excellent side mode suppression > 50 dB
- high flexibility
- systems with 760 to 1080 nm wavelengths available (further wavelengths under development)
- free beam and fiber-coupled versions available
- constant current and constant power operation modes
- plug & play configuration
- automated wavelength tuning with wavelength and power readout
- remote control via GPIB, RS232 and USB
Applications for the new laser generation are:
- spectroscopy and optical process control
- optical cooling and trapping, BEC
- absolute distance interferometry
- laser and OPO seeding
- nonlinear optical processes
- characterizing of fiber optical systems
