Alps Electric Co. Ltd. has developed an optical communications lens
with high coupling efficiency and high reliability. This aspheric
molded glass lens is supplied with a stainless steel holder that can be
YAG laser welded. An antireflection coating ensures low deterioration
in high temperatures and high humidity. Twenty standard units are
available in a number of configurations including coupling lenses and
reception collimator lenses. The main wavelength bands are at 1.3 and
1.5 µm.
