LOUISVILLE, Colo., March 9 -- Zolo Technologies Inc., an optical networking sub-systems developer and manufacturer, has agreed to purchase grating supplier Hyperfine Inc. The company plans to close the acquisition later this year.

"Without question, Hyperfine is the world's leading grating manufacturer since they can both rule and replicate the diffraction gratings used in our DWDM devices. Most grating suppliers focus on the replication aspects of gratings but do not have the ability to rule masters from which to replicate. By combining Zolo and Hyperfine, we feel extremely confident that we will create a world-leader in grating-based optical networking subsystems."
