GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Feb. 15 -- X-Rite Inc. has formed Coherix Corp., a subsidiary company that utilizes tunable laser technology in the electronics, metalworking and other emerging markets.
    "Coherix will enable its customer's workflow processes with a new, revolutionary, patented method of precisely measuring the shape of an object," said Rich Cook, X-Rite's president and CEO. "Noncontact precision shape measurement is new in a variety of design, verification and manufacturing businesses. We believe Coherix has first-mover advantage in bringing this capability to a new customer base, one that will help us grow."
