Von Bünau Appointed Zeiss Fellow
OBERKOCHEN, Germany, May 16, 2017 — Optics developer Zeiss AG has appointed Rudolf von Bünau as a fellow.

A U.S.-born physicist, von Bünau joined Zeiss’ semiconductor manufacturing technology division 20 years ago and went on to work at the medical technology group for more than 10 years in the ophthalmic diagnostic and treatment area. Today, von Bünau works in the central research department and is in charge of biomedical innovations.
“In addition to his vast technical knowledge, von Bünau has a profound understanding of medical applications and requirements,” said Michael Kaschke, president and CEO of Zeiss. “He has shaped ophthalmology at Zeiss as we know it.”
Zeiss develops, produces and distributes measuring technology, microscopes, medical technology, eyeglass lenses, camera and cine lenses, binoculars and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
