CHICAGO, Feb. 13 -- Universal Access, a specialist in connectivity services, announced it has agreed to acquire the metropolitan, fiber optic ring assets of Sphera Optical Networks as part of Sphera's reorganization.
Universal Access expects to purchase seven of Sphera's metro core optical rings, which are already interconnected with Universal Access' Universal Transport Exchanges. The acquisition, which is subject to bankruptcy court approval, is expected to be complete within 90 days.
