US-Based Consortium Purchases Majority Stake in 3D-Micromac AG; Company Makes Changes to Board
CHEMNITZ, Germany, Feb. 3, 2021— A consortium of U.S. investors acquired a majority stake in laser micromachining and laser processing developer 3D-Micromac AG, the company reported. Company founder and previous majority shareholder Tino Petsch has sold part of his share package and will withdraw from the operative business. Board member Uwe Wagner will continue to manage the overall business of 3D-Micromac AG.
Wagner has served on the management board of 3D-Micromac since 2017 and was previously responsible for the company’s technological and commercial management. He has held positions at LPKF Laser & Electronics AG, Jenoptik Automatisierungstechnik GmbH, and Jenoptik Laser GmbH. He has been with 3D-Micromac since 2012, starting in business development and later serving as chief sales officer and chief technology officer.
Petsch, who founded the company in 2002, will remain as a consultant and continue as a shareholder.
